Our Privacy Commitment
Outflow is designed with one core principle: your financial data is yours alone.
Data Storage
- All your expense data is stored locally on your device only
- We use secure local storage (Room Database)
- No data is ever sent to our servers (we don't have servers)
- No cloud sync — your data never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up
What We DON'T Collect
- No personal information
- No location data
- No advertising identifiers
- No account information (no account required)
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Outflow uses the following services to improve the app experience:
- Firebase Analytics: Anonymous, aggregated usage data to help us understand how the app is used. This data cannot identify you personally and no financial data is ever collected.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports to help fix bugs and improve stability. Crash reports may contain device information and app state but do not include your financial data.
You can opt out of analytics by disabling app usage sharing in your device settings.
In-App Purchases
Outflow offers premium features through in-app purchases — Receipt Scanner, Voice Logger, Smart Categories, and Secure Vault.
- Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing
- We do not collect or store your payment information
- Google handles all payment processing securely
- Purchase receipts are managed by Google Play
Optional Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is 100% optional. Outflow supports two providers, depending on your device:
- Android — Google Drive: You must explicitly sign in with your Google account. Files live in your Google Drive in a restricted folder we don't have wider access to.
- iOS — iCloud Drive: Backup uses your Apple ID's iCloud quota. Files live in your private app container — Apple's terms and your iCloud settings govern access.
- Either way, backup files are in JSON format (you can read them yourself).
- You can revoke access anytime from the corresponding account settings (Google Account or Apple ID).
Your Rights
- Export your data anytime (JSON format)
- Delete all your data anytime from Settings
- Use the app without any account
- Full control over backup settings
Third-Party Services
- Google Play Billing (Android) — for processing in-app purchases securely
- Apple App Store / StoreKit (iOS) — for processing in-app purchases securely
- Firebase Analytics — for anonymous, aggregated usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reporting and app stability
- Google Drive (Android) — only if you explicitly enable backup (100% optional)
- iCloud Drive (iOS) — only if you explicitly enable backup (100% optional)
Data Retention
Since all data is stored on your device, retention is entirely under your control. Uninstalling the app removes all data.
Children's Privacy
This app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Any changes will maintain our commitment to your privacy.
